I am responsible for managing a large team of technical staff across the Faculty of Arts and Humanities including the School of Digital Arts (SODA). A trained filmmaker, I have worked for Manchester Met since 2012, acting as Technical Officer for Filmmaking for a decade and simultaneously as Team Leader of Digital Arts for 8 years, until December 2022.
My background is in videography and filmmaking – and my professional interests include live-streaming, music, filmmaking, photography, gym, history, nature and science.
I completed a BTEC National Diploma in Communications and Media at Cleveland College of Art and Design in 2001, graduating with a BSc in Film Production Technology from Staffordshire University in 2005. I have an extensive background of training in the field of filmmaking, having completed numerous courses at London Film Academy, Avid at Pinewood, FutureWorks and Blackmagic Design. Until recently I was a fully certified Avid Learner Partner and Instructor and a certified user of DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, After Effects and FCPX. In 2021, I achieved FHEA status, which reinforced my commitment to education and standards under the Advanced HE Framework.
