Jenny Baines is an artist predominantly working with 16mm film. The apparatus of analogue film plays an integral part in the production and display of her work in which she explores the relationship between the body, screen and space. Her research draws on performative methodologies from fine art and experimental film.
She obtained her MFA in Fine Art from The Slade School of Fine Art and her practice-led PhD entitled ‘How to do things with film’ from Manchester School of Art.
She exhibits her work internationally in exhibitions, screenings and live performance.
