My role is dedicated to the areas of audio production, video production, and live event technologies. At the School of Digital Arts (SODA), I am responsible for managing the Music and Sound Design facilities, ensuring our students have access to state-of-the-art studios, mixing desks and practice rooms. My day-to-day work revolves around managing these facilities to support the creative and learning processes of our students.
Over the last 20 years, I have developed a unique expertise in live event production and broadcast technologies. I am particularly skilled in networked audio and video technologies, like Dante and NDI, and have a passion for designing complex, intuitive systems for a range of uses, from educational purposes to gallery installations and commercial projects.
My professional interests lie in experiential learning and technical education. I am the co-creator of Manchester Met’s Art School Live and Matchday Live, initiatives that allow students to engage in producing live cultural events and sports broadcasts. These projects not only cater to my interest in live production but also underline my commitment to enhancing the student experience through practical, hands-on learning.
In 2023, I was honoured to be accepted on to Manchester Met’s Education Innovation Associate Scholarship scheme, recognising my efforts in experiential and skills-based learning. This achievement reinforces my belief in the transformative power of hands-on education in the fields of audio and video production.
Outside of work, I love to spend time with my family and volunteer my time to community youth groups and sports teams, providing training and opportunities in the areas of live event production.
